Mommy says it is crazy that I have been here for as long as she had known she was pregnant.
This week has been a pretty low key week, except for that mommy switched me to soy formula to see if that would help me from spitting up so much. It must have worked, because I gained 14 oz this week!
Mommy and I went home for the weekend to help celebrate Auntie Sammy's baby shower. I got to see my papas, and my grandmas. I also got to see my cousins, aunties, uncles, and a lot of my other family. Everyone was glad to see me, and I was happy to see them!
I celebrated my first day light savings time. Mommy was really happy about that. We ended up staying in Winneconne for an extra night, so I got extra snuggles with the family.
We missed Daddy though. He had to stay home for work. Daddy put our christmas lights up while we were gone. They look really wonderful. Daddy did a great job!
Pictures are of me sitting with with the Birth to Three ladies. Me just hanging out. A picture from today. And a picture of me snuggling with Uncle C!!
Hope everyone has a great week!
Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes!!!
Love Easton, and my mommy and daddy :)
Easton was born 2/9/12. He was sent to the NICU due to some issues with a possible brain injury. We hope this blog can Help everyone stay updated with Easton and his progression through the NICU and after!

37 weeks
Today I am 37 weeks! I am still working really hard on getting this tooth through. I was at the doctor on Monday for my cough, no problems there but I lost weight. So we have to go back for a weight check on Monday. I got to enjoy the weekend with my grandma Anita, auntie Alissa, Becca, cousins Hayden, Gracie, and Owen. We also got to see uncle brad, auntie Jenny, Paige, delaney, and Logan. Tonight mommy tells me we are going to carve pumpkins. What that means I am not really sure. We went pumpkin hunting last weekend. I didn't really know what was up. I did love the fresh air thigh. We also went to my first Winona state homecoming parade. I liked watching all the people. Mommy has lots of pictures for you today. She says she will post pumpkin carving pictures later!
Have a great weekend everyone! We are headed to Chicago to visit uncle buster, auntie Sandra, luc, and Juliana. Thank you all for prayers and well wishes!

Pictures with my cousins, the pumpkin patch, Layla and I, the parade, and today will be on the next post

Crazy to think I have been around as long as mommy knew she was pregnant with me! This week we had a great week. Turns out my hearing is just fine, all the wax they took out helped. Halloween was fun. I was super man! I also switched to soy formula today. Hopefully that will help me gain weight and puke less. I have not gained any weight since the beginning of October. We meet with the pediatrician next week. Pictures of Halloween festivities. Thank you all for your well wishes!
Hope everyone has a great week.

36 weeks
This week we have been busy unpacking and making our house a home. We have also been dealing with all of our thoughts and emotions from what we learned last Friday. A lot of our questions just can not be answered yet. They are all about the future.
As for Easton he has been working really hard at getting his first tooth. It is almost there, but it really has been getting the best of him. He has not been sleeping well and he has been a little crabby!
We are excited to celebrate Winona state homecoming by going to the parade tomorrow morning. Hopefully the weather cooperates!
We are also hoping for a visit from Grandma Anita, auntie Alissa and Becca, and cousins Hayden, Gracie, and Owen. It all depends on how Auntie Alissa is feeling though because she had surgery this morning to remove a big kidney stone! We are very happy surgery went well.
After nap time we are having a play date with Auntie Jenny, cousins Paige, Delaney, and Logan. We are excited to see them, life has been so busy.
We really appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers as we continue on our life long journey!

Friday... What a day
We started the morning bright and early checking into mayo clinic at 0645. I fed Easton at 5 because they said he couldn't eat for 4 hours before his procedure which was at 930. Come to find out it was actually scheduled at 10. Easton had an MRI and a hearing test which needed to be done while he was sedated. For Easton sedation also means intubation because he is so small. Also the reason he needed tone sedated because they need him still for the MRI. So after sitting and waiting Easton finally went back at 1030.
The hearing test took an hour and the MRI took 1 1/2 hours. Easton got to the recovery area at 2. We spent about an hour in recovery, then it was off to his neurologist appointment, which of course was at the other hospital. We finally got to see the Dr. At about 415. We spent about an hour with him. It was a very long draining day.
From the hearing test we found out he has mild to moderate cognitive hearing loss in his right ear. His left ear is great.
We also talked about the results of his EEG. He still has some small abnormalities on the right side of his brain. They call it focal activity. We are going to wean him off of the phenobarbital, because they don't feel two medications are necessary to control this. They don't think Easton will ever have a completely normal EEG. So that being said, we won't have to do another EEG anytime soon, unless something changes.
When it came to the results of the MRI we didn't get the great and wonderful news we were hoping for. With how far he has come in the last few months I was really hopeful for great news. So when the neurologists first words were "I don't want you to be alarmed by the results... " I knew I was not getting the news I was hoping for.
Easton's ventricles are about 40% larger than they should be. This is because of some atrophy of his brain matter. They are certain this is because of the lack of oxygen during delivery, which resulted in a brain injury. The reason they could not see this on his first MRI is because his brain was swollen and so small yet. The good news is there is no bleeding, and no necrotic parts of his brain, which they thought they saw the first time.
So what does this mean for Easton? We are not completely sure. Obviously he has a developmental delay. That we already knew. They are saying 2-3 months behind, which is not any worse than it has been. They are about 95% certain that Easton will have some sort of delay when he gets older, they just are not sure what, or how severe it will be. They will continue to see him in the NICU follow-up clinic. They think we are doing absolutely everything we can for him right now with physical therapy and occupational therapy. We have also taken him to see the eye doctor and obviously the ENT doctor.
They also said at this time they don't see anything that suggests he might have cerebral palsy.
We really appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts everyone has sent Easton's way. We continue to hope and pray that he will prove the doctors wrong, but I especially am learning that I need to start thinking more realistically about everything.
We are very thankful for all of our family and friends, who have been there for us through all of this.
All we really know for sure is that no matter what happens Easton will always be loved by many, and that is all we could ever ask for!
Thank you again for all of your prayers and well wishes. They are greatly appreciated.

35 weeks
I am 35 weeks old today. I am helping mommy and daddy unpack, working on getting my first tooth, and I am turning into a rolling machine. This stinking tooth has not been very nice to me. I have been drooling like crazy, chomping on my fingers, and I have been extra sassy. Mommy and daddy hope this thing pops through soon. Tomorrow I have an MRI. They have to sedate me for this, which makes mom and dad a little nervous. We see the neurologist tomorrow afternoon also. We are hoping for all good news. If you could please keep me in your prayers, I would appreciate it greatly. Have a great week. Mom will update after my appointment tomorrow.
Have a great week!
